In the western world, we, the people, find words like “minimum” “silence” “stillness” uncomfortable. We are taught that more is better, that silence is boring, the being still is wrong. But when we venture outside of the norm, many find that those are not the best guides for a healthy mind (and body). Perhaps the opposite is true, where less becomes infinite; where silence allows us to hear our soul; where stillness sharpens the senses. These minimalist photographs are meditations in light, where emptiness is not absence, but presence.
