I'm Paul Chacon,

a photographer drawn to the ephemeral—those fleeting moments when light transforms the ordinary into something luminous. Based in coastal Maine since 1994, with roots in Ecuador, I specialize in atmospheric imagery that captures mood over majesty.

My work explores the intimate side of landscapes: fog rolling through birch groves, dewdrops catching golden light, the quiet solitude of a heron in morning mist. Whether photographing Maine's moody shores or Ecuador's high country, I'm searching for moments that invite you to pause and feel rather than simply see.

In 2022, I became the first Ecuadorian photographer invited to exhibit at the Bienal de Cuenca, Latin America's second most prestigious contemporary art biennial—a milestone that honors both my artistic journey and my heritage.

I work primarily with Fujifilm mirrorless systems, as well as Canon, which allow me to move quickly and unobtrusively through the environments I photograph.

Limited edition prints available. I'd love to hear from you about commissions, print inquiries, or just to talk photography.
