Moras are blackberries and it is a common sight in the Ecuadorian Andes. The people of Ecuador have learned to harvest the fruit and transform it into delicious ice-cream, juice, jam, etc. In the capital (Quito) they make what’s called “colada morada” which is a drink made primarily with moras (hence the name), slice, and corn flour, and it is the traditional drink which is served with bread to celebrate the day of the death.

One of the most significant aspects of Ecuador is the fertility of its soil. In such a small geographical area, the country produces an incredible variety of fruit and vegetables, along with an incredibly diverse fauna.
